Wine Review: Bindi "Dixon" Pinot Noir 201

Ahhhh, Pinot Noir…the savage, seductive, beauty + the beast grape that is so finicky she could be nicknamed ‘Goldilocks’. Everything around her needs to be just right and I mean EVERYTHING! We’ve all had that glass of pinot where it was quite obvious that everything wasn’t just right, it was grown in a climate too warm (jammy), in a climate that was too cold (sour and tasteless).

I’m about to tell you about one that was handled with kid gloves and when this happens, she will most certainly put you under a spell. This wine hails from the elite Bindi vineyard in the Macedon Ranges of Victoria, Australia, home to some of the country’s most precious pinot noir and chardonnay vines. This area has a cool climate which makes Goldilocks very happy!!

We will begin with the nose: she starts out with a perfume that is both floral and spicy and captivates you immediately. There is a subtle earthiness that lets you know she’s grounded yet still frisky. Take it to the palate and you’ll notice she’s even more alluring, and a little dangerous (everything you want out of a pinot noir). You have roses, red and dark cherry, raspberry, savory spices and a finish that won’t quit.

Yes, this is definitely a splurgy girl but damn she’s sexy. I always say life is too short to drink bad wine and I know you agree too or your wouldn’t be on B+B’s mailing list :) When you are ready to treat yourself or looking to impress, pick up this little number, she will stop you dead in your tracks and you know…..God made Cabernet, the Devil made Pinot Noir!
