Journaling: A Tool to Ease Your Mind

Let’s face it: the holidays are stressful. There’s a whole lot of running around, shopping, cooking, eating, wrapping, and more eating, with maybe a little bit of downtime in-between. We’d like to present you with a way to ease your mind—something other than a post-work nap on the couch. Journaling isn’t new to the mental health game, but it’s certainly nice to be reminded of it as an option. Getting words onto the page is a great way to unload, especially during a time when it feels hard to catch your breath.

Our friends over at BYBS+T (Be Your Best Self + Thrive) have provided all of the tools for using journaling to soothe you. And it just so happens that we have an assortment of beautiful journals in the shop, too!

If you’re looking to get started, we’ve even provided a few journal prompts:

Prompt #1: Make a list of three things that filled your cup up today. Then, a list of three things that drained you. Choose one thing from each list and spend some time reflecting. Once you’ve reflected, make note of one thing you’d like to prioritize to fill your cup up tomorrow.

Prompt #2: What is your favorite holiday memory? What sensory things do you remember about the moment? Try to capture the memory in the way you remember it best—perhaps as a series of stand-out images, or an in-depth description of the words that were spoken and why they were special.

Prompt #3: Reflect on a positive interaction you had with someone today. How did you connect well with this other person?
